Returning with her first record since Young People's hiatus in 2007, Katie Eastburn's debut album as KATIEE is functional body music, made for ecstatic movement, brain expansion, and full-throated singalong. An immersive work of collaged narratives and obscured genre lines, Out All Night's minimalist art-pop combines compelling rhythmic pulse with hypnotic melodic sprawl. Guided by the stark beauty of Eastburn's voice, KATIEE's off-kilter songs exude a haunting semblance of timeless soul/blues while defying traditional arrangements.

Seven years in the making, Out All Night's darkly-hued ruminations document Eastburn's development as a solo artist. Punctuated by the tragedy of multiple violent deaths in her immediate family prompting a career transition from art instructor to RN, KATIEE's debut was lovingly conceived throughout several phases of grief and healing. Initially recorded using synths, drum machines, and vocals in 2009, she formed a band for the KATIEE project to flesh out the songs in 2013 at the urging of her husband & collaborator Jim McHugh. Backed by core members of the psychedelic freak-jazz outfit Sunwatchers (featuring members of Dark Meat, Chris Forsyth's Solar Motel Band, NYMPH), the group re-recorded and reshaped Out All Night into a mesmerizing mesh of spacious productions, deep-seated grooves, unexpected instrumentation, and abstracted storytelling.
